separates.London-based womenswear brand Xsenia & Olya, began through the
friendship of two aspiring graduates from the prestigious Central St Martins –
Xsenia Runa and Olya Shishkina. They established the label and launched with
their SS12 collection ‘Staircase Wit’ at London, Paris & Vancouver fashion
weeks. Following this eye-catching debut, they returned to London, Paris &
Vancouver with their appropriately named “Digital Knit” collection.
Always
focusing on luxury and quality, Xsenia & Olya balance a layer of fantasy in
their aesthetic that is innately female but acutely powerful using a mixture of
sheer feminine fabrics. The combination of sophisticated ‘zero-waste’ pattern
cutting techniques and bold digital print gives form to powerful and sensually
provocative shapes that embrace the body in effortless complexity.
Both designers share a rich
portfolio of experience benefiting from their time spent at renowned fashion
houses including Giles Deacon, Erdem, Agatha Louise de la Prada, Michiko
Koshino, Mary Katranzou and David Koma.
